Chiropody care for rheumatism

Rondom Pedicures offers specialised foot care to people with rheumatic conditions. Rheumatism can affect the health of your feet. Joints may become stiffer, the position of your feet may change, and pressure sores may develop more quickly. As a result, walking, standing and wearing shoes can become less comfortable.

A medical pedicurist helps to keep your feet in the best possible condition. We check your feet regularly and tailor the treatment to your individual situation. In this way, we help to minimise any discomfort as much as possible and ensure your feet are well looked after.

Chiropody care for rheumatism
  • What do we offer?

    Every form of rheumatism is different. That is why our medical chiropodists tailor every treatment to the condition of your feet and your personal circumstances. When your feet change as a result of rheumatism, we work with you to determine which foot care is best suited to you.

    Depending on your symptoms, treatment may consist of:

    • the treatment of calluses, corns and cracked skin;
    • the treatment of ingrown, thickened or brittle nails;
    • reducing painful pressure sores;
    • advice on foot care and shoes that suit your feet.
  • Who is this offer intended for?

    Foot care for people with rheumatism is intended for those with a rheumatic condition who experience foot problems or need extra support with foot care.

    A medical pedicure may be appropriate if you:

    • has rheumatism;
    • experiences pain or stiffness whilst walking;
    • if you notice any changes to your feet or toes;
    • suffers from calluses, corns or pressure sores;
    • has nail problems;
    • you are unable to look after your feet properly yourself due to pain or reduced mobility.

    Are you eligible for medical foot care? If so, the medical pedicurist will carry out the treatments in accordance with the treatment plan drawn up by your podiatrist.

  • What can you expect?

    During your first appointment, we will discuss your symptoms and examine the condition of your feet. Among other things, we will look for pressure points, skin and nail problems, and changes that may be caused by rheumatism.

    In any case, you can count on:

    • treatment tailored to your personal situation;
    • focus on reducing pressure and pain;
    • regular checks of the skin, nails and pressure sores;
    • practical advice on daily foot care;
    • cooperation with other healthcare providers where necessary.

    Chiropody care for rheumatism
  • Collaboration with other healthcare providers

    Rheumatism often affects several joints and your day-to-day functioning. That is why our medical chiropodists work alongside other healthcare professionals at Rondom where appropriate. For example podiatrists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists or lifestyle coaches.

    By coordinating care and treatment, we ensure that your foot care is tailored to your situation and any other treatments you may be receiving.

  • Costs and reimbursement

    Chiropody treatment for rheumatism is sometimes covered by your supplementary insurance. The amount you are reimbursed depends on your health insurer and the policy you have taken out.

    If you are eligible for medical foot care under your basic health insurance, the treatments included by the podiatrist in your treatment plan will be fully reimbursed.

    Would you also like a full foot treatment, such as having your nails cut or a general foot care session? In that case, these services are usually at your own expense.

    See our price guide for the current rates. Would you like to know more about reimbursements? Then click here.
