Do I need a reference?
No, you do not usually need a referral for occupational therapy. You can book an appointment directly. Sometimes, however, a health insurer or other organisation may ask for additional information. If a referral is advisable or necessary, we will discuss this with you.
Does my child or young person need a referral?
Usually, a referral is not necessary and you can contact them directly. In some situations, a referral may be useful, for example when several healthcare providers are involved or when additional information is required.
What sort of problems can an occupational therapist help me with?
Occupational therapy can help when everyday activities no longer come naturally. For example, in cases of fatigue, sensory overload, physical complaints, recovery from illness, difficulty planning or concentrating, problems at school or work, or changes associated with ageing.
Is occupational therapy only intended for people with a disability?
No. Occupational therapy is for anyone who finds that their daily activities are becoming more difficult, less enjoyable or harder to carry out independently. This may be temporary, but it can also be long-term.
What should I do if I am unable to attend my appointment?
Are you unable to attend your appointment? Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance via info@rondomergotherapeuten.nl or 088-1180541. For appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, we will charge €45.00.
Is occupational therapy covered by insurance?
Occupational therapy is covered by basic health insurance for many people. This usually involves a set number of treatment hours per calendar year. Sometimes there are additional reimbursement options. Your health insurer can advise you on what applies in your situation.
Is occupational therapy covered for my child or young person?
Occupational therapy is often covered for children and young people. The level of cover depends on age, insurance and individual circumstances. We advise you to check this with your health insurer in advance.
Will my (occupational therapy) aids be reimbursed?
This varies depending on the aid and the situation. Some aids are reimbursed by health insurance, the local authority (Wmo), the school or other schemes. The occupational therapist can help explore options and assist with applications.
Do I have to pay an excess for occupational therapy?
For adults, the excess may apply when cover under the basic insurance policy expires. Different rules often apply to children. Your health insurer can confirm this for your specific situation.
Can the occupational therapist help with a request for assistive devices?
Yes. An occupational therapist can advise on what support is appropriate and, where necessary, assist with justifying or coordinating the provision of aids or facilities.
Is workplace advice also available for those working from home?
Yes. Workplace advice can be provided both in the office and at home. We look at how your workplace and working methods can be better tailored to your day-to-day tasks.
Do I need to have any complaints to receive workplace advice?
No. Workplace advice is also used to prevent health issues in the first place. For example, if you spend a lot of time working at a computer screen or notice that your workstation is not set up in the best possible way.
Does the occupational therapist also look at assistive devices or adaptations?
Yes. Where assistive devices or adjustments can help make work more pleasant and healthier, we include these in our advice. Examples include an adapted mouse, keyboard or workstation layout.
Will the occupational therapist also come to my home to assess me?
Depending on your situation, a workplace assessment can take place at your workplace, at your home or via video call.
How does a workplace assessment or workplace consultancy process work?
A programme usually begins with a discussion about your work, your working environment and any symptoms you may have. We then look at what adjustments or advice might help you work more comfortably and sustainably.
Should I stop doing activities if they cause me pain?
Not always. Pain does not automatically mean you have to stop. Together, we will explore which activities are suitable, how you can better recognise the warning signs and how you can gradually increase your activity levels in a responsible way.

Does the occupational therapist also handle the application for or delivery of an aid?
We can assist you with applying for medical aids and facilities through, for example, your local council or health insurer. Delivery is usually arranged via a medical aids supplier or another relevant party.
When can I start getting back into my daily routine?

How do I sign up for the Rondom App?
You can easily register via the registration form on our website. Choose the subscription that suits your situation. Once you have registered, you will receive an email from us with further instructions.
How can I cancel my subscription to the Rondom app?
You can cancel your subscription at any time via the cancellation form on our website. Once we have received your cancellation request, we will send you a confirmation. Your subscription will then be terminated in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.
