More about me

What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?

In my work as a diabetes podiatrist, I treat patients with complex foot problems. I also work behind the scenes on training, content development and various projects. I draw a lot of energy from personal contact with patients and from working in multidisciplinary teams. I also find it rewarding to share my knowledge with others, so that we can support one another in the healthcare sector. This balance between providing care and passing on knowledge gives me a great sense of fulfilment.

What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people get through life more easily?

Optimal care for the diabetic foot requires vigilance, prevention and a multidisciplinary approach, aimed at maintaining mobility and quality of life

How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?

The fact that, in my work, I can constantly switch between analysing, collaborating and taking practical action. That fits in well with how I work and learn myself.

What do you do outside work that people might not expect of you?

In my spare time, I like to keep active and deliberately seek out variety. I’m regularly on the tennis court, where I can really clear my head. Music also plays an important role in my daily life, and I love travelling and discovering new places.
