How does the payment process work?

Podiatry is covered by many supplementary insurance packages. If this is covered by your supplementary package, the bill for the foot screening, amounting to €19.95, will be sent to your health insurer. If you do not have supplementary cover or if podiatry is not covered by your health insurance, the bill for €19.95 will be sent to you via email once the foot screening has been completed.

If, following the foot screening, further examination or treatment – such as orthotic insoles – is required, In that case, the €19.95 charge for the foot screening will be waived and, if you agree to the additional examination or the proposed treatment, you will receive a discount of €19.95 on the final fee. Sometimes it is possible to offer you the additional examination or the proposed treatment immediately after the foot screening. If this is not the case, a new appointment will be scheduled. Podiatry treatment is covered by your insurer. If this is included in your supplementary cover, the bill will be sent to your health insurer. If you do not have supplementary cover or if podiatry is not covered by your health insurance, the bill will be sent to your email address.

Problems with your feet, such as abnormal foot alignment or an incorrect gait, can lead to wear and tear not only in your feet but also in your knees, hips and back in the future. When your feet are functioning properly, your whole body can cope with greater strain. That is why, even if you have no symptoms, it is never a bad idea to have your foot alignment and gait checked preventatively by a podiatrist. Think of it as a preventive check-up at the dentist!
