Habitual antalgic posture

Does your body adopt a different posture because of pain?

What is it?

An antalgic posture is a posture adopted by the body in which pain is felt the least.

When to see a podiatrist...

You should see a podiatrist if your symptoms persist after physiotherapy, Cesar exercise therapy or Mensendieck therapy.

A treatment

The symptoms are often caused by overuse. Treatment depends on the cause and the original symptoms. If an abnormal position and/or function of the foot is observed, podiatric insoles can be fitted for you.

The expected outcome depends on the original complaint.
