Treatment without a referral
At Rondom Ergotherapeuten, you can book an appointment directly with an occupational therapist. You do not need a referral from your GP or medical specialist to do so. We refer to this as direct access to occupational therapy (DTE).
How does treatment without a referral work?
If you come to see us without a referral, your first appointment will begin with a brief assessment. The occupational therapist will discuss your needs and assess whether occupational therapy is appropriate for your situation.
During this screening, we will be looking at, amongst other things:
- your request for assistance and daily activities;
- any complaints or limitations;
- whether occupational therapy is the right form of care for you at that time;
- whether further investigation or a referral is advisable.
