Defence

We work with the Ministry of Defence on research and injury prevention. Within this collaboration, the emphasis is on preventing complaints caused by overexertion, with a particular focus on Achilles tendon problems among military personnel.

Defence

Service personnel are subjected to heavy physical strain during training and deployment. As a result, injuries to the lower leg, ankle and foot are common. These injuries can mean that service personnel are temporarily unable to train or work. Through this partnership, we are trying to prevent this from happening.

Research and prevention

Together with researchers from the Ministry of Defence, Amsterdam UMC and the Ministry of Defence, we are conducting research into the factors that increase the risk of Achilles tendon problems.

By understanding how these injuries occur, we can better help to prevent symptoms. We can then give better advice on exercising safely during training.

Stronger together

Through collaboration between healthcare, research and the Ministry of Defence, we bring together knowledge from various disciplines. In this way, we work together to improve prevention, support and resilience.
