What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?

Operations Manager and podiatrist. As an Operations Manager, I get a real buzz from organising, coordinating and sorting out whatever comes our way. No two weeks are the same, and it is precisely this variety and the ad hoc challenges that make my work so enjoyable. Together with my team, I ensure that issues are dealt with promptly and properly organised, so that the organisation continues to run smoothly.

I also work as a podiatrist. The direct contact with patients in the treatment room gives me a great deal of satisfaction and ensures that I remain closely involved in day-to-day practice. This enables me to maintain a clear understanding of what my colleagues need during their consultations. That practical experience helps me to organise facilities and support processes in a way that truly meets the team’s needs.

What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people get on better in life?

A happy colleague or patient? Then not only do they feel better, but I feel better too! ;)

How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?

The ability to adapt quickly and anticipate developments in my role as Operational Care Manager, and satisfied colleagues.

As a podiatrist, I can carry out my work in a relaxed manner, and patients still compliment me on how clearly I explain their symptoms; they leave the treatment room satisfied and often pain-free :)

What do you do outside of work that people might not expect of you?

I’m an open book – I really wouldn’t know, haha!
