More about me

What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?

I am a podiatrist in Almere, in the Tussen de Vaarten area, and a regional assistant for Lelystad and Almere. It gives me energy when I can help people move more easily again. The gratitude I feel when people are no longer in pain and can be more socially engaged because they are no longer held back by their discomfort. But working together with my colleagues and other disciplines, and learning from one another, also brings great satisfaction and provides many valuable learning experiences.

What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people get through life more easily?

Look at the possibilities! There are things that sometimes don’t work out (anymore). But there’s often plenty that does. You can always give it a go.

How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?

Social interactions. Working with colleagues and patients. It makes me happy to help people, and I enjoy creative challenges.

What do you do outside of work that people might not expect of you?

I am involved at my children’s school, helping to organise activities there. I enjoy going for walks with a group of friends. I like going on fun outings with family and friends.
